A course for departmental staff who deal with purchasing, monitoring and disposal of fixed assets.
Designed for those that are familiar with the use of CUFS who have the responsibility for fixed assets within their department.
- Identify and define an asset in the University context.
- Understand why and how the University tracks its assets.
- Identify the key points to remember when purchasing assets.
- Produce a list of your department's assets and view recorded information about each one.
- Update and record additional information for specific assets.
- Run appropriate reports to assist in the monitoring of the register and with reconciling it to other departmental systems.
- Discuss the implications and accounting arrangements for asset disposals.
- Summarise departmental responsibilities.
To highlight the University's current policies and procedures and refresh users' knowledge in this area. We will look at common scenarios that often cause confusion, clarify departmental responsibilities and guide you in how to maintain an up to date register.
