SCM Staff Conflict Management Skills for SCM Business and Operations Managers (In Person Face to Face)
NewSpecial

Tue 21 May 2024

Description

Conflict occurs in every organisation, yet only few managers know how to manage it effectively. Without the confidence to address issues with team members informally and at an early stage, conflicts are often avoided and left to fester and grow. This practical and experiential course will give delegates a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of conflict and shift their negative perceptions of conflict. The course will raise delegates’ self-awareness and teach key conflict resolution strategies to collaboratively resolve workplace conflict.

Content

  • Personal perceptions of conflict and how these inform our ability to manage organisational conflict.
  • To gain a basic understanding of the psychology of conflict, including selective perceptions and self-fulfilling prophecies.
  • To raise awareness of delegates’ own conflict management styles by using the Thomas-Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument.
  • To practice key communication skills that help to de-escalate strong emotions.
  • PIN model: Helping managers to identify underlying issues that result in conflict.
  • Non-violent communication: A communication process for conflict conversations.
  • Conflict conversations: Consensio’s 3-step process to prepare, introduce and structure a conflict conversation, including collaborative problem-solving
