This session is an opportunity for you to ask questions and to find out more about the development opportunities that Cambridge is offering you – for the Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship programme. We are looking to explore what interest there is at this current time in the LIAS apprenticeship and hope that there will be sufficient interest to establish a University-wide cohort. By establishing University-wide cohorts, we are looking to encourage more departments to use apprenticeships as a way to provide focused professional development for staff. Participants will have the advantage of a peer group to work through the programme with Cambridge University Press and Assessment who are potentially interested in joining in with this. LIAS Assistants help users find the information and resources they need in order to resolve their specific query. User needs vary across sectors and could include finding textbooks to support their learning; legal materials to support law activities; images to create a design; trademark information to create a new product; health information to diagnose a patient etc. Digital services, digital literacy, information literacy, general literacy, customer service, problem solving, organisation of resources and systems underpin and characterise the work in this profession. The provider for this programme - LMP Ltd, will present and be available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have before submitting an expression of interest. Programme details of the apprenticeship can be found via the link below: Library, Information and Archive Services (LIAS) Assistants Level 3 There is a minimum of 10 people required for the programme, for a cohort to run. Depending on the level of interest shown, it is intended that the apprenticeship cohort will start early 2023. Entry to the cohort will be by expression of interest application and is open to all University employees who meet the eligibility criteria.
