Intercultural Communication workshop New
Do you think that people from other cultures are sometimes too direct or too vague? Have you noticed that some people have a different attitude towards deadlines, rules or socialising? Do you struggle to ‘get on’ with some of your fellow students or colleagues and often feel misunderstood?
Culture is about perception. Different cultural backgrounds create a platform for misunderstandings. It is therefore critical that everyone in Cambridge should develop understanding of the impact of culture on their everyday intercultural encounters.
CULP students only (both non-native and native speakers of English)

During the interactive session, the participants will be given a chance to reflect upon their past interactions with people from different cultural background and their own culture to encourage empathy and to promote not only better collaboration, but also more effective and satisfying day-to-day interactions. The result is openness and flexibility, as well as competence in communicating and working “across cultures.” This session is not country specific and can be attended by native or non-native speakers of English.
