This Course is a basic introduction to safe working with fully enclosed X-ray generating equipment in the laboratory (Part 1). It is designed to complement practical instruction given on the use of specific equipment.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Describe the main risks to health of using X-ray generators
- Identify the UK regulations and your duties under the legislation
- Identify local policy and arrangements for the use of X-ray generators in the University
- List the typical control measures used to protect you from radiation
- Follow the correct procedure if something goes wrong
- Identify next steps and further training requirements
