Introduction to Lean in HE: Making Improvements in the Workplace


Description

The course is designed to give participants an overview of Lean thinking as applied within Higher Education, and an explanation of some of the basic tools used to make improvements to processes. This session will focus on how to break down a problem and work towards a justifiable and confident decision to achieve the best outcome you can.

Objectives

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a basic understanding of the methodology used in process improvement
  • Understand the logical sequence of steps that need to be taken to sustain improvement outcomes
  • Participate in “hands on" group simulations to reinforce the course classroom content
  • Explore the level of empowerment they have to make process changes
