- The course provides an accredited Lean Practitioner qualification. The course involves a 2-day virtual training session via MS Teams, followed by completion of a 6-week project.
Target audience
- Staff who have attended the Introduction to Lean in HE: Making Improvements in the Workplace (Virtual) course
- Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available
Prerequisites
- In order to gain a place on the course the following criteria will apply
- Staff member who has attended the Introduction to Lean in HE (Yellow Belt Equivalent) course
- Completion of an open-book "Introduction to Lean" on-line assessment or holding LCS 1a accreditation).
- Commitment to attend on the specified dates
- Commitment to complete a workplace project

Number of sessions: 4
Objectives
Completing the course will provide you with:
- An enhanced knowledge of Lean principles and the ability to apply these to your sphere of influence in your organisation
- Identify and carry out a Continuous Improvement (CI) Project using: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control (DMAIC)
- Recognise and be able to apply a range of improvement tools and techniques and understand their relevance to DMAIC
- LCS Certification for Lean Practitioner after completing the 2 days and a 6 week Continuous Improvement project https://www.leancompetency.org/

- MS Teams, including group work
- Work place project

Charging
- University departments and colleges: £150 (VAT not applicable)
The fee includes:
- Instructor-led tuition
- LCS 1b certification
- On completion of project, membership of the LCS Practitioner community
