As a member of the new Leadership and Management Community of Practice, we want to hear your ideas about ‘what next’. What would you like the CoP to achieve? What are your Big Ideas and small ideas? What are our priorities? Join us for an informal discussion with a couple of core team members and others from the wider community to talk about our collective aims for the CoP. We will also introduce some of the ideas that have been collected so far from new members and at the Launch event. The Teams link will be sent to attendees on the morning of the meeting.

Data Insight CoP - Scoping Session new Finished 13:00 - 14:00

Building on the great work of the Data Reporting and Insights CoP, this session will provide the opportunity to consider how we develop the existing Community of Practice to increase its impact and reach in line with other CoPs and the future data landscape at Cambridge.

In this session there will be the opportunity to:

  • Discuss what the CoP could look like (objectives, events, target members etc.)
  • Explore Core Team roles and the validation process
  • Ask questions
  • Share ideas

Please come along to this session if you would like to find out more and play a role in validating, developing and growing the CoP.

Introduction to Lean in HE: Making Improvements in the Workplace (in person) Finished 09:15 - 16:30 Greenwich House, Heidelberg Room

The course is designed to give participants an overview of the history and principles of the Lean methodology, and an explanation of some of the basic tools used to make improvements to processes. This session will provide some basic tools that can be used immediately to facilitate a continuous improvement way of working

This course is accredited with the LCS (Lean Competency System), a certificate will be provided on completion of a short assessment.

This session provides an introduction for both mentors and mentees. We will discuss the benefits of mentoring and provide guidance on how to set objectives for the mentoring relationship and how to prepare for your first session together. We will also offer some tips about how to be a good mentee and mentor.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team have partnered with a specialist external provider, to develop some online training modules for the University of Cambridge. Whilst the training is up to date with the latest legislation, advice and information, we have an opportunity to significantly tailor the package, to help it resonate with staff across our academic and professional services communities.

We’d love your help, to understand any aspects you really like, (or don’t!) and where we might make changes to give each of the modules a University of Cambridge ‘look and feel’. The session will be fairly fast-paced, with a high-level review of each module and a closer look at each of the proposed videos. We'll offer the opportunity for participants to provide individual comments and also group feedback, based on breakout room discussions.
