Negotiation skills New
Negotiation is a life skill with which you can achieve your own desirable outcomes but also help others achieve theirs - a ‘win/win’. Good negotiation skills could help you in situations such as setting up a research collaboration that works for everyone through to dealing with a new job offer.
This workshop covers the fundamental aspects of understanding how to negotiate so that by the end you will be able to take part in a group negotiation, giving you experience of translating the theory into practice.
It focusses on using a principled argument, which is more likely to achieve results that meet the needs of all the parties in the negotiation, and lead to good ongoing relationships, and trust.

This workshop will be facilitated by Dr Geraint Wyn Story. Geraint did a PhD in the Department of Plant Sciences at Cambridge, and then worked as a research team manager for a biotech company for two years before changing career direction and becoming the Researcher Development Consultant for the life sciences at Cambridge from 2008 – 2014. He then founded his company Cambridge Training Associates and continues to deliver personal and professional development internationally.
