Spanish: Beginner (Intensive) Beginners
Fun introductory course to Spanish. This course is for those with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish. Communicative context, with videos, audio, texts and conversation.
Please note: This course will be taught in person and online. The Monday class each week will be class room based/face to face teaching at CUED. The classes on Tuesday and Thursday will be taught online, using Zoom.
You must be able to attend all sessions as 'in-person' classes are not recorded.

- Greeting, numbers, families, describing where people live and work, ordering food
- Days of the week, free time, telling the time,
- Past tense (weekends/holidays), future tense
You will:
- learn the Spanish language in a communicative context, with videos, audio, texts and conversation
- learn grammar and vocabulary by using them actively
- gradually focus on aspects of culture and science that are useful to your career
- complete interactive activities and one written piece per week
- reach a level suitable to get by during your holidays in Spain or Spanish America!
Class work (classroom and online via Zoom) and individual study.

Thank you for taking your class with us via Zoom. Participants of this course can request permission to record the sessions, but the final agreement would be a group discussion given the fact that we are dealing with privacy protection policy.
If you choose to be part of the class you can collaborate on Spanish projects, and share or annotate on one another’s screens, all with one easy-to-use platform. Alongside the content of this course, homework, resources, and any other type of support will still be placed as usual on our Moodle page.
Please note that even though we are moving to online instruction, the classroom policies of both the University and CLIC - Engineering Department still apply. Please make sure to act appropriately as you do in normal face to face classes and remember to limit external noises or distractions. If you have any questions at any point, please do not hesitate to contact us.
