This is a one-day specialised CAA approved training course aimed at those departments shipping biological materials by air (IATA). It will use the 2020 IATA Regulations and will cover the full classification, packaging, labelling and documentation required to ship the following goods:
It will also cover the requirements for the supplementary materials encountered, such as dry-ice, dry-shippers and samples that are in small amounts of potentially flammable, or toxic, preservative fluids. Successful candidates will receive a training certificate valid for two years, restricted only to the materials described above. For completeness, transport by road and rail etc will also be covered. This course provides a practical introduction to the writing of Python programs for the complete novice. Participants are lead through the core concepts of Python including Python syntax, data structures and reading/writing files. These are illustrated by a series of example programs. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to write simple Python programs.

The session will look at more advanced formulas and macros using the recorder and VBA tools. The formulas covered in this course include SUMIF and COUNTIF which will allow the user to quickly summarise data. Macros will enable the user to automate tasks within excel. During this session, we will use the example of needing to analyse, sort, split and send data to specific email contacts. Users will be introduced to a series of macros to reduce this process to a few simple steps. The session will run on Teams and delegates must be able to access Excel during the session |

Join Holly Edwards from Henpicked for an interactive webinar on the topic of Menopause. Menopause can have an effect on us all, whether we're experiencing menopause directly or supporting a family member, friend or colleague. While some will sail through menopause, 3 in 4 experience symptoms and as many as 1 in 4 have serious symptoms. However, around half have never consulted a healthcare professional about their menopause. Research also shows that the majority of those experiencing the menopause are unwilling to discuss menopause-related health problems with their managers or ask for any support they may need. We are passionate about the wellbeing of our partners, team colleagues or family members and that means talking about menopause openly. Our online retreats give you time, peace, and space to think and write. Each session will provide a friendly and constructive environment in which to meet like-minded peers, discuss challenges, and work in a focused way using the Pomodoro technique. These virtual retreats are being hosted collaboratively across several institutions to encourage researchers across career stages and institutions to come together in a sustainable writing environment. The team will be available 9-10 and 4-5 every Tuesday and Friday - each hour can be split into two sessions of 30 minutes depending on demand. |

Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing (ChIP-seq) is a method used to identify binding sites for transcription factors, histone modifications and other DNA-binding proteins across the genome. In this course, we will cover the fundamentals of ChIP-seq data analysis, from raw data to downstream applications. We will start with an introduction to ChIP-seq methods and cover the bioinformatic steps in processing ChIP-seq data. We will then introduce the use of the graphical program SeqMonk to explore and visualise your data. Finally, you will perform peak calling and perform differential enrichment analysis.
