The Head of Department Safety Essentials is a collection of 3 short presentations designed for newly appointed Heads of Department.
This online course provides Heads of Departments with the appropriate health and safety knowledge to suitably manage their department.

The Head of Department is the responsible person for the safety and health of those working and learning under their control. This course has been designed so that on completion of the course Heads of Department will be able to:
- Understand their responsibilities for managing the health and safety of the people and aspects of work activities that are under their control
- Create and develop a competent team who understand their roles, responsibilities, and the actions they need to take to assist them in meeting their health and safety responsibilities
- Create a positive culture by leading and involving their team in developing, maintaining, and improving the health and safety at work of members of their department
Three video presentations and three associated quizzes.
